Artist of the Month Contest
02-25-02

I had a great time visiting with some really cool tattoo and piercing artists in Austin last Saturday. I passed out a good number of fliers, mostly to businesses on 6th street. I have many more businesses to visit in the coming weeks and I'm looking forward to meeting more cool Austin body artists. Everyone I spoke to was nice and seemed receptive to the idea of my site. Since I was out in the early afternoon, many of the businesses I visited weren't very busy and this gave me an opportunity to hang around and talk to people about the site and about their businesses.

One artist asked me if I planned to have an "artist of the month" on my site. This is a great idea that I had not considered until then. I haven't heard back from the artist yet, but he's putting together the best of his portfolio and getting the images scanned over the next few days. Check back soon to see the first InkBrothers Artist of the Month. Now that I have a March 2002 artist lined up, I'm ready to accept submissions for April.

Artist of the Month Guidelines

  1. E-mail a few scans of your best work to me.
  2. I will review your work and have a few of my buddies look at it as well.
  3. If your work is accepted, I'll let you know that you won the contest.
  4. Anyone may enter the contest as many times as they like but an artist may win the contest only once a year.
  5. At least a week before your month starts, you need to have sent at least 10 images of your work to appear in your artist of the month gallery. You can also include as much information about yourself as you like, a photo of yourself, a link to your website, etc. You should especially include information on how to contact you and where your shop is. I'll then put together a bio and a gallery for your work and make it available on the site.
  6. A prominent link to your gallery will appear on my first page for the entire month. After the month has ended, your gallery and bio will remain on the site for as long as you like.

Sound like fun, doesn't it? In case you didn't notice, "Artist of the Month" is a free contest.
